18 Fashion Designers. Six countries. One competition — these students from eight of the best Fashion Schools in Europe showcased their collections at Porto Palácio da Bolsa.

  1. Finland (Aalto University),

  2. France (Institut Français de la Mode),

  3. Italy (Polimoda),

  4. Switzerland (HEAD Genève),

  5. United Kingdom (London College of Fashion)

  6. Portugal (ESAD, FAUL, and Modatex).

From six countries and eight of the best Fashion Schools in Europe, 18 young creatives compete in the 8th edition of MODAPORTUGAL Fashion Design Competition. They come from Finland (Aalto University), France (Institut Français de la Mode), Italy (Polimoda), Switzerland (HEAD Genève), United Kingdom (London College of Fashion), and Portugal (ESAD, FAUL, and Modatex).

In the days preceding the competition jury meetings and runway show, these emerging designers went on an INDUSTRY TOUR through ADALBERTO, CALVELEX, CITEVE — Technological Centre, PETRATEX, RIOPELE and VALÉRIUS RECYCLING CENTRE. The programme is designed to showcase the very best of the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industry, connecting the future of Fashion Design with the present of textile innovation that is on the forefront of sustainable transformation, technology and investigation.

This fashion show celebrates the culmination of creativity of these 18 young creatives.

During the ceremony, the jury will announce the best collection from each country as well as which Designer will take home the greatest award of all: to be the winner of the 8th edition of the MODAPORTUGAL Fashion Design Competition.

MODAPORTUGAL Fashion Design Competition is organised by CENIT — Portuguese Centre of Intelligence for the Textile Industry — and by ANIVEC — Portuguese Association for Clothing and Apparel Industries — with the support of Portugal 2020.
