On the 17th of April, Tintex CEO Mário Jorge Silva welcomed more than 340 guests from the Portuguese textile and manufacturing industry, international media, fashion designers and brands to Tintex in northern Portugal. The networking meeting included an interactive presentation about the dyeing and finishing company’s most innovative technology projects, followed by a visit to the industrial unit and an exhibition of Tintex’ “naturally advanced” products.
“Today, we will spend a day at our factory with its naturally sustainable solutions and present innovative projects on a global scale”, shared Mário Jorge Silva. “This open day is intended to demonstrate the results that our company has developed over the years, through projects carried out in partnership with various companies, suppliers, employees and all those who are part of our community”, he continued.
The results of many years of responsible research and innovation in dyeing and finishing solutions, including the projects Picasso, TexBoost and TexBion were presented during the event. Ana Silva, Tintex Head of Sustainability, added that, “Beyond these, Tintex has several ongoing research and development projects, all of which are innovative and also responsible”. According to her, “based on the three sustainability pillars — environmental, social and economic — the Portuguese industry, in general, has evolved in a consistent, continuous and collaborative way”.
Companies like Tintex show how the growing investment in innovation translates into a competitive advantage, bringing new dynamism and great perspectives.
The tour was also attended by João Correia Neves, the Portuguese Secretary of State for the Economy, who added, “companies like Tintex show how the growing investment in innovation translates into a competitive advantage, bringing new dynamism and great perspectives. It is not an easy path and it must be done with perseverance, not only through innovative projects, but also by being able to mobilise the whole surrounding community”.
Following Riopelle, Tintex was the second company in the textile sector to be part of the Open Days i4.0 program. Theses are visits organised by IAPMEI and COTEC Portugal to Portuguese companies who show best practice in the transition towards industry 4.0. Based in Vila Nova de Cerveira, the Portuguese textile company was founded in 1998 by Mário Jorge Silva and has been internationally recognised for its sustainable solutions and innovative projects. ♦
