The final TALK of the MODAPORTUGAL CIRCULAR conference series takes as its starting point the approval of the New Waste Framework Directive and its implications for the fashion and apparel industry. After years of debate, the approval of this new European legislation places strong emphasis on sorting for recycling, particularly for the production of new fibres. Defining the EPR economic model will be crucial to understanding who pays, how much it costs, and how responsibilities are distributed across the value chain.
