On December 5th, the Palácio da Bolsa, in Porto, will host the MODAPORTUGAL LINKS event, an initiative by CENIT in partnership with ANIVEC, that aims to create an innovative collaboration platform between young Fashion Designers and the textile and clothing industry.

The goal of this initiative is to strengthen ties between the creative and productive sectors, fostering a direct connection between design and industry, which is essential to boost Portuguese and European fashion in an increasingly demanding global market.

MODAPORTUGAL LINKS includes a European Fashion Design Competition, featuring 18 promising talents from six of Europe’s most prestigious fashion schools: Aalto University (Finland), Institut Français de La Mode (France), Polimoda (Italy), Modatex Porto (Portugal), London College of Fashion (United Kingdom), and Head Genève (Switzerland).

On December 3rd and 4th, the 18 young designers, teachers, and press will have the opportunity to visit four Portuguese companies that embody values of craftsmanship, technological innovation, and sustainability: Calvelex, Polopiqué, Riopele, and Valérius Recycling Centre. On December 5th, the 18 creatives will gather at the Palácio da Bolsa, in Porto, to present their works to an international jury composed of representatives from the competing countries. The competition final will be presented in a fashion show, followed by an awards ceremony for the winners from each country, as well as the winner project of the MODAPORTUGAL LINKS Competition.

MODAPORTUGAL LINKS is part of the Lusitano Project, supported by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan, and the Next Generation EU European Funds. This support highlights the commitment to a more sustainable and competitive fashion industry, asserting Portugal’s position as a center of excellence in the sector.
