The project originated within Pedrosa & Rodrigues as a response to the need to find new uses for production waste. “It led us to think about an internal solution for improvement and process optimisation. In other words, what can we do to make the most of what goes to waste and safeguard our planet from greater consequences in the future?” explains Olga Soares, Circlo’s business development manager.
Circlo works with local partners and transparent processes. “They are certified partners who believe in what we’re doing and, together, we’re able to present the products. The best part is that everything is close by – within a 20 to50-kilometre radius, we can do everything,” highlights Olga Soares.
During its presentation at Première Vision, held in the Smart Creation area dedicated to sustainable innovations, the brand attracted the interest of international professionals. Olga Soares, who presented the project wearing an outfit made from one of the recycled knits in the collection, revealed that Circlo’s strategy is based on three business areas: its own collection of circular knits, the upcycling of post-industrial materials for customised solutions, and, in the future, a fully closed loop that will include the reuse of post-consumer garments and related logistics solutions.
According to Olga Soares, the goal is to establish Circlo as a 100% sustainable brand.“If we are to be sustainable, then let’s be sustainable, and however long it takes, we’ll get there.”
For now, the focus is on gradual growth. “The most important thing, in the first stages, is to show who we are and what we do. To build trust with our clients, without a doubt. Because that will open doors to the rest of the world,” she concludes.
